Description

This V-Lab is designed to teach 3rd year Pathology students the technical aspects and relevance of assaying for changes in protein expression due to disease. It focuses on the principles of electrophoresis and Western Blotting of proteins to check for their expression patterns.

The V-Lab is used to augment an existing wet-lab (real lab) experience, which exhibits a number of issues, including class size, availability of resources and health and safety concerns.

A V-Lab format allows teachers to overcome all of these issues and concentrate on teaching difficult concepts more effectively.
